About This Project

For almost the entire month of July 2017, these 20 Polish students from Zwierzyniec spent their time in Seville for an internship as Carpenters, Geodetic Surveyors and Environmental technicians. During their apprenticeships, they carried out several tasks, such as:

 

  • Realizing chemical, physical and biological tests in air samples, water and soil and to document results.
  • Implementing protocols of quality control and quality insurance to try materials of conformity and fulfilment.
  • Designing local topographic networks.
  • Getting to know different instruments to create a Digital Terrain Model.
  • Getting to know assembly systems for wood furniture.
  • Preparing construction and tailored wood furniture

 

During their stay, they could also enjoy some free time and visit the beautiful city of Seville in a Seville tour, as well as taste its delicious food during a Tapas Night. Moreover, the trainees also took part in an overwhelming Spanish course and in exciting cultural trips to the marvellous cities of Gibraltar and Tavira (Portugal).

‘Hi! My name is Jakub Białończyk. I am 18 years old. I am a student of Wood Technology subject in Jan Zamoyski Wood Technology and Environmental Protection School Complex in Zwierzyniec, Poland. Here in Seville, I am working as a trainee and I am learning a lot about my profession. During the vocational practice, I am meeting many wonderful people. I think the organization of this project is on a very high level.’

Jakub Mazurek:

‘Hello! My name is Jakub Mazurek and I am 19 years old. I am a student of Land Surveying in Jan Zamoyski Wood Technology and Environmental Protection School Complex in Zwierzyniec, Poland. My practice takes place in Parque de Maria Luisa in Seville. During my traineeship, I take vertical measurements, determine the location of detail points and compile date to create a map. I am spending my free time sightseeing new places in Sevilleand meeting Spanish culture. In my opinion, the organization of this project is on a very high level.’

Agnieszka Kłyż:

‘Hi! My name is Agnieszka Kłyż. I am 19 years old. I am a student of Environmental Protection subject in Jan Zamoyski Wood Technology and Environmental Protection School Complex in Zwierzyniec, Poland. Since 3 July I have been doing my internship: on Mondays and Fridays, I work in an office of Euromind, where I develop a project, on Tuesdays Wednesdays and Thursdays I re-cultivate green areas and take care of gardens in Sevilla. My job is easy and satisfying. I am very happy and grateful for the possibility to participate in this project. I have learnt new skills within the subject of environmental protection and I can oparate practically. I have been working with kind and helpful people. The organization of this project is excellent. Moreover the hostel is clean, spacious and meets my expectation.’
