In February we hosted in Ubeda a group of Polish trainees from Zduńska Wola. It was a group of 20 students of hospitality and gastronomy. They spent here three weeks improving their professional and language skills.
The hospitality students could find out how the work in a hotel is organized. They could see the coordination between all of the departments and they carried out tasks from each of them. They were responsible for the check in and out system, they helped in the kitchen and dining room during breakfast. They worked in the sector of housekeeping cleaning rooms and preparing them for guests.
The gastronomy trainees gained knowledge about Spanish cuisine. They got to know names and recipes of some local specialties, tapas and desserts. They helped to prepare dishes, they had to learn to coordinate their work with the work of waiters.
All of the trainees participated in a basic Spanish course, where they could learn simple, everyday expressions, and they could practice the vocabulary from each sector.
Together with a member of euroMind´s team, the group went on a walk around Ubeda. This small town has a lot to offer and it is on the UNESCO list not without a reason. During the walk, students could get to know Ubeda better and see all of the most important monuments and places.
During the weekend the group went on a trip to one of the biggest cities of Andalusia – Cordoba. They made a walk in the center and they saw all the most important monuments and places. They have admired the old city walls, ancient Roman temple, the most important squares of Cordoba, the Alcazar. Some of them entered the magnificent Mosque-Cathedral. Definitely, it was a day to remember.
They are already back at home with lots of new memories and richer in experience. We wish them all the best in their future careers.
