About This Project

10 Polish trainees spent three weeks in Seville in the summer of 2015 to learn all there is to know about cooking and baking abroad. The trainees did internships in local restaurants and bars, carrying out tasks such as:

  • Trim and chop vegetables
  • Prepare dishes like seafood: squids, shrimps
  • Prepare snails dishes
  • Prepare Spanish tapas
  • Dishes decoration
  • Serve dishes

The trainees also learnt Spanish – both on the job as during their classes -, went on a Seville Tour, visited the general archives of the Indies and played a football match with and against both local students as students from abroad.

PARTICIPANTS’ OPINIONS

1

Kamil Tadla:

‘During my work experience I liked learning how to prepare typical dishes from the Andalusian cuisine. I really enjoyed my placement, the only thing which I had difficulties with was communicating in Spanish but this was overcome by using English instead.’

Weronika Oleszczak:

‘My work experience carried out in the restaurant allowed me to learn many ways of preparing tarts and creams, decorate and package prepared products. I am very happy to have done my placement there because I really learned a lot and my work colleagues were really nice.’
