About This Project

At the beginning of the summer, 19 students from Stalowa Wola, Poland spent two weeks in Úbeda, doing their internship in the finishing works sector, involving the renovation of a basketball court and the laying of tiles and mosaics on one of the walls. Interestingly, this court is located in the euromind residence in Úbeda.

All the students worked hard and the results exceeded our biggest expectations. First, they smoothed the walls and then prepared them for tiling. The next step was to lay the tiles and the mosaic that formed the euromind logo. All the students, under the guidance of their tutors, formed a harmonious team, exchanged tasks and supported each other.

The group stayed in a euromind residence in Úbeda, which was both their temporary residence and their place of work. Despite this, the students were very successful in separating work duties from leisure. After work, they very much enjoyed using the swimming pool and eating the delicious food prepared by our cook.

During free time, the group went on two excursions. In Málaga, the capital of the sunny Costa del Sol, the participants had the opportunity to get to know Picasso’s city better and to bathe in the sea. On the second trip, to Granada, the students learnt about the city’s fascinating history and had the opportunity to admire the magnificent Alhambra. What’s more, the students also went for tapas to experience and better understand the Spanish way of life. It was both an educational and a tasty experience!

We hope the students are proud of the work they have done (we certainly are!) and happy with their stay in Spain!

PARTICIPANTS’ OPINIONS

Mikołaj Kazanecki

My job was renewing the basketball court and to arrange a mosaic with the logo of euromind. I was just learning how to do it, but I tried to put all my effort to make it good looking. Despite the language barrier with the tutors, we managed to get along quite well. The residence in Úbeda was a good place to live, there was always something to do and the food was great! It was a great trip, great experience and I recommend it to anyone who has a chance not to be afraid and try it!

Adrian Kotuła

I wanted to go to Spain to learn something new and see the country in more than just pictures. I learned about plastering techniques and the working culture in Spain. I consider my entire stay here to have been a success, full of new experiences.

Kacper Pałka

During the internship I learned to prepare the substrate for tiling, tiling and applying plaster to the wall. The tutors were very friendly and kind, they are very patient. In my memory of the whole stay in Spain, there will be great memories and beautiful views, a great atmosphere and a very nice time!
