About This Project

In May, euroMind greeted a group of 8 Polish students in Seville to work as cooks in restaurants located in Seville for two weeks.


They could learn more about this sector learning about typical Spanish cuisine and local specialties, performing skilled cooking and food preparation, assisting in coordinating food service activities to have meals prepared at the scheduled time, washing and drying kitchen pots/ utensils and ensuring their proper storage, observing and testing food to determine if it has been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling or piercing it with utensils, weighing, measuring and mixing ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment, using various kitchen utensils and equipment, arranging the working space in the kitchen, preparing the ingredients for consumption or cooking, washing, peeling, cutting and peeling fruit and vegetables as well as cutting meat, checking the quality of food by tasting it or using appropriate kitchen utensils…


Students also could visit a Sevillan company to realize a workshop of ham cutting. Thanks to this activity, students learned more about Spanish culture and gastronomy.


In addition, they had the opportunity to participate in an intensive Spanish course and in many interesting activities, such as a flamenco show, a paella night, a city tour. Students could enjoy trips to famous and important places in Andalucía and Portugal. It is worth mentioning that they visited Marbella, Tavira and Granada.


We hope they enjoyed their stay in the Andalusian capital!

In Spain I had a chance to check my cooking skills. I can now prepare typical Spanish dishes. Ms. Laura, my tutor, is very caring and interesting person. I have seen a lot and I learnt new words in foreign languages.
