About This Project

A group of 15 students travelled from Grzybno to Úbeda (Spain) to carry out a vocational training project related to mechanization in agriculture. There was no better place for their two-week internship, as the region is one of the largest olive oil producers in the world. In fact, this part of Spain can produce more olive oil than Portugal, Greece and Italy combined.

During their stay they had one main objective to achieve: to measure, analyze and report on the state of a given olive crop. Divided into groups, they first used geodetic tools together with specific software to create a map of the agricultural area. Next, they specialized in the use of drones. In this case they learned to use drones, not for plant care, but for terrain analysis. During the days they worked with drones, they practiced flights with virtual simulators, learned about different parts of the device and understood the main rules and methods of drone use. When they were ready, they flew them and continued measuring the olive crop. In short, these 15 adventurers broadened their perspective on agriculture and internalized how important it is to apply new technologies in their field of study.

In addition to their training, they were lucky enough to learn the basics of Spanish vocabulary and grammar thanks to classes taught by local teachers. They were even able to travel to the exotic summer destination of Malaga, where they discovered what the perfect climate is like.

They are sure to return to Poland with a suitcase full of experiences they will never forget.

Do zobaczenia, wkrótce przyjaciele!

Staying in Ubeda is interesting, people are nice. Our coordinator is cool and funny. Thanks to our practices, we can discover what the work of an olive grower looks like. Our apartment is large, spacious, we have a swimming pool and a basketball court. Thanks to the people working in the residence, you can feel at home.
