A wonderful group of 28 students from Zespół Szkół Gastronomicznych w Łodzi spent 2 weeks in the capital of Andalusia where they completed internships that allowed them to improve their individual skill sets. This group carried out internships in gastronomy sector – they worked as cooks, pastry cooks and waiters. The tasks carried out allowed students to acquire new abilities and better understand Spanish working environment. On top of all their hard work, students studied the Spanish language with the interactive and culturally immersive course offered by Euromind. They didn’t waste their time – after internships they were exploring the old town of Seville and they have visited Real Alcazar, Plaza de Toros. Some of them even had opportunity to see bull fights in Seville to understand local culture and traditions. The group visited also another cities in the region – Cadiz, Setenil de las Bodegas and Ronda. See you soon awesome people! Hope you’ll remember this adventure for a long time!

I went to Spain with fears that I would not be able to cope here because of the language barrier, lack of knowledge of the culture and not knowing the local cuisine. In the hotel where I had my practices I was accepted at once. They showed me everything from scratch, how to prepare fish and seafood in their routines. They taught me different Spanish recipes and flavours. In Seville, I visited many monuments, such as the beautiful Spanish Square, the Cathedral of Our Lady, the Alcazar, the residence of the King of Spain, and many others. We also had two wonderful trips to Cadiz and Ronda. In Cadiz, I experienced the ocean and rested on the beach after one week of work, and in Ronda I saw beautiful views and monuments left by the Romans. It was the most successful trip I have ever had.

Thanks to the Erasmus programme I could go abroad for the first time. I learned a lot about a new country, new culture and new language. During my stay in Spain I visited a lot of interesting places and tasted new flavours. At the weekend we visited Cadiz located by the Pacific Ocean and Ronda, the city on the rocks with amazing streets. We also saw a lot of olive gardends. My job was fascinating. I also learned a bit Spanish – its such an interesting language but quite difficult to me. My boss was a really understanding and helpful person. That was unforgettable adventure for me.

In my opinion, my project trip to Spain was very successful. During these two weeks I managed to get to know the Spanish culture and their customs. At work, I broke my language barrier and saw how Spaniards live on a daily basis. I learned about their eating habits and attitude to work. The employers were very nice and friendly to us. We also managed to visit some beautiful places in Seville, including the Spanish Square and the Alcazar. We had even organized a visit to Corrida, which was an amazing experience for me. We also went to Ronda that is an amazing town on the rocks. We also visited Cadiz where we could rest a bit, sunbathe and swim the Atlantic Ocean. I learned a lot here, met nice people. I will have very nice memories of this trip and someday I will definitely come back to Spain.
