About This Project

A group of 21 students from Zielona Góra did an internship in Malaga in the professions of Technician of gastronomy, Hairdresser, Photography Technician, Dressmaker, Lighting and Sound Technicians.

Cooks in Malaga did their apprenticeships in a couple of places, one of which was the restaurant “Pepa y Pepe – Arini Propiedades S.L”. In this restaurant, students learnt about typical Spanish dishes and local specialities. They demonstrated their cooking and food preparation skills.

During their internship, graphic design technicians gained experience in photography, graphic design and as lighting and sound technicians in various companies. One of the companies where a student completed an internship was ‘Blanca Gero Fotógrafa – Blanca Gerónimo García’. The student’s tasks were to observe a photo shoot and record a video, assist the photographer in his work, and edit the photos using photo editing tools.

The dressmakers on the trip were tasked with fitting, altering, repairing and tailoring garments and home accessories to the specifications and fit of customers and manufacturers. They had to apply the principles of garment design and styling. They repaired or replaced faulty parts of garments, such as pockets, zips, snaps, buttons and linings.

The group of hairdresser developed their skills in this professional field by practicing with local people. They also learnt about different methods of haircare.

PARTICIPANTS’ OPINIONS

Anna Staroń

I wanted to go there because I wanted to get to know Spanish culture, food, language, traditions and rituals. I liked the local nature the most, the trees had beautiful flowers, there were also a lot of birds and cats. I worked at a hotel, where my duties were: laying out cutlery (generally preparing meals) and collecting plates from guests, cleaning up after them and then giving new napkins, cutlery and glasses.  Overall I liked it a lot, I highly recommend it.  Traveling like this is a great experience.

Jakub Kubiaczyk

I wanted to go to Spain to experience the culture and local cuisine. I worked at a restaurant and my job was to prepare ingredients and make shrimp skewers. In my free time I spent a lot of time on the terrace or went for a walk around the city. I really liked the market where I went to work every day.
