About This Project

In May 2019, euroMind welcomed a group of 9 Belgian cooks and waiters from Belgium. They came here to spend three weeks working in local companies and developing their professional abilities.

Belgian trainees learned the characteristics of the typical Spanish cuisine. They found out how to organize and coordinate work in the restaurant or in the Hotels. They were mainly preparing the ingredients for consumption or cooking, washing, peeling, cutting fruit and vegetables as well as cutting meat, checking the quality of food, tasting, smelling, punching with utensils, weighing, measuring and mixing ingredients according to recipes and personal judgment with the use of available kitchen appliances and equipment, adjusting the temperature of other kitchen equipment depending on the dishes being prepared, seasoning and cooking meals according to recipes, personal judgment or experience, using different methods (e.g. baking, braising, frying, broiling, roasting and steaming), learning about typical Spanish cuisine and local specialties, serving meals to clients, washing and drying kitchen pots/ utensils and ensuring their proper storage.

The trainees had a chance to visit other andalusian cities like Seville and Cordoba, to try some typical Spanish snacks during Tapas Night, to enjoy cultural activities like Banana Boat, Flamenco show, Boat trip, and also to know more about the Spanish culture and language thanks to the intensive Spanish course held by euroMind team.

Here is what I think about this internship in Spain. It was a very beautiful experience. I learned a lot in a month about the culture. I like especially the people with whom I worked during this month. They were great and very listening despite the language barrier. If I could do it again I would repeat this experience. It was very well organized and I like the concept. Thank you again to all those people who organized this trip for us. It was just great.

Hello! I loved the visits made by Gigi. She made the visits interesting and alive. I learned a lot thanks to her, she knew how to captivate us or where we were! I would like to thank her for these wonderful moments of visit. Thanks a lot to the restaurant where I worked during the internship, I had the opportunity to be associated with your work and to acquire new knowledge and skills. These will be very precious to me for the realization of my future projects. So the time, the attention, the interest that you have kindly shown me have not been lost. The people here made me want to persevere in this job for which you gave me the greatest respect. I now that an experience that I gained in the professional field gives me a chance to improve myself.
