In March 2019 eight students from Kielce came to Seville to do an internship as lab technicians. They worked in innovative laboratories, where they had the best conditions for gaining professional skills.
Thanks to well experienced supervisors, they had a chance to learn and work on removing residues, sterilizing and performing maintenance work on machinery and laboratory equipment as well as saving and analyzing the results of research and experiments. With the time they got to know the tools, equipment, and technologies used in the laboratory and were able to identify and analyze gases and sewage polluting the environment. Moreover they were responsible for preparing materials and equipment for sampling and later on monitoring the samples. Students were also assisting in physicochemical research of sewage and in microbiological studies of activated sludge. All this gave them lots of new abilities.
What´s more, the group attended a dynamic Spanish course that helped breaking the language barrier and made the communication more efficient. In their free time they enjoyed the city and its´ best – went on tapas night where they tried the traditional Spanish dishes, did the river cruise with the views to the city and went on the tour around the historical center. All this will be an unforgettable memory on their professional and personal path.

I my opinion this internship was very helpful because I learned new things such as how to prepare culture medium for bacteria. I also worked on innovative lab equipment.

The internship in Seville was something that every participant will always remember. During the practice I have learnt new things – for example how to examine purity of water or how to prepare culture medium for bacteria. Workers in laboratory were very kind and helpful. They explained how to do experiments and they showed how to use a laboratory equipment. Also Spanish course turned out to be very useful. I have learnt a lot of Spanish words and phrases. In free time I admired a beautiful architecture of Seville and I tasted local dishes.
