About This Project

In May a group of 18 students from Chocianów, were hosted by euroMind in Malaga to gain a 4-weeks internship as CNC Operators and Hospitality workers.
All students were working in different positions and different companies, so every student get a unique experience.

CNC Operators were using counters and applying the knowledge of metrology. Interpreting plans and technical pictures. Operating and monitoring machines for cutting, drilling, and grinding the metal. Checking the results of operations and if it is not satisfactory, call the adjuster. Preparing elements for turning. Cleaning, lubricating, and carrying out maintenance of the machine. Replacement of turning tools. Operating CNC Machines.

Hospitality workers were setting tables with clean linen or placemats, cutlery, crockery, and glasses. Welcoming, seating customers, and handing them menus. Talking to guests about the menu and drinks and recommending combinations. Promoting local products and attractions to visitors from Spain and overseas. Taking customers’ orders and passing them to kitchen staff or bar attendants. Serving food and drinks.

During their stay in Malaga, the trainees not only developed their work skills but also took part in different cultural activities such as the Malaga tour.
Students also were lucky to get a chance to go to Ronda-charming village located in the Andalusian mountains. During the day trip, the students were able to see the beautiful scenery surrounding Ronda including its well-preserved old town which has Arab Baths, defense walls, and small churches. The trainees also got to visit the World’s oldest bullfighting ring which is used only once a year, and they learned about the history of this controversial tradition in the bullring’s museum.

Also, students visited Nerja, located on the eastern end of the Costa del Sol, which has all of the elements needed to charm any visitor. Its annual average temperature of around twenty degrees Celsius, its beautiful mountain landscape of La Axarquía region, as well as its rugged coastline of beaches and cliffs, are just some of its attractions. Nerja has more than its fair share of fabulous beaches, Burriana and Torrecilla being the main ones, which boast 16 kilometers of powdery sand and sparkling clear water, and a splattering of small coves to explore.

Students get sufficient Spanish courses with our Spanish teacher, we emphasize practice, so during lessons students play a lot, because we think the game is the best teacher. Spanish classes can be described in two words: dynamic and practical. That is why, after intensive and hard learning, the students had written an exam. All the participants passed with very good results!

PARTICIPANTS’ OPINIONS

Daria Adamczewska

The company where I was doing my internship produces food for weddings that take place all over Spain. It is a very friendly company especially for foreign interns because the staff and bosses are always there to help and worry about their interns. I really like going to the apprenticeship because there is a very nice and family atmosphere, people are nice and helpful. I feel really nice when they try to speak to us in Polish. When we don’t understand something they always help us by explaining it in a funny way to calm down the atmosphere.

The company where I am doing my internship is a company that mainly deals with electronics repair and sales, the working atmosphere is very pleasant, and the staff is understanding. As a trainee in this company, I was very welcomed and all my tasks were thoroughly explained and demonstrated. In any situation with which I had problems, I could easily ask for help from an employee, and he was happy to explain everything to me. I enjoyed my internship there, and I acquired a lot of useful skills, and I am very satisfied.
