About This Project

In October, EuroMind welcomed a group of 16 Polish students from Rzeszów, to Seville for their two-week-long group work placement in photographic advertising.

There were many responsibilities that the students had to undertake for this internship. These included preparing briefs with clients, creating blogs and photography portfolios and preparing and publishing an online campaign. They also learnt how to apply the principles of depth of field, distance, composition and light to practicing studio portrait photography. Furthermore, they carried out a number of photo processing tasks using editing programmes such as Bridge, Photoshop, and Lightroom. Finally, the students worked hard on their photo production skills, including RAW file processing, optimizing images online and on their social media publishing.

Beyond the activities of their internship, the students also took part in many cultural activities during their stay in Seville. The first of these was a paella night where, under the supervision of a professional cook, they created their own unique versions of the Andalusian dish. They also participated in a Seville tour, organised by euroMind. This tour allowed the students to appreciate the culture, architecture and atmosphere of the city, and allowed them to get to know Seville, the capital of Andalusia. The group also had the opportunity to venture beyond Seville itself. The first of these day trips away was to Cadiz, where the group visited the city centre, the baroque style Cathedral, the oldest fish market in Spain, The Tavira Watchtower, the Plaza de España where the first Spanish democratic constitution was signed and finally were able to relax on Caleta beach for the rest of the day. The other day trip away that the students experienced was to Faro in Portugal. Faro boasts more historic monuments and buildings than many other Algarve towns which the trainees got a chance to visit during their day trip here.

The students enjoyed their stay in Seville, and have been equipped with both language and photography skills as well as a wider cultural appreciation for Spanish and Andalusian culture which will be extremely beneficial for their futures.

Coming to Spain for an internship was a big adventure for me. Thanks to my practice I gained new skills such as creating Brief or creating a website (WIX). During these internships we also took studio (portraits), group and product photos with composition. We visited the famous Alcázar where we had to take photos. A novelty for me was making a gif. Staying in Spain made my stay even more pleasant with two excursions: Faro and Cadiz. Both these places were wonderful. Summing up the internship I will remember them nicely and I will surely take something out of them.

During the apprenticeship I gained experience that will be useful in my future profession. I worked and learnt a profession under the supervision of professionals. I received many valuable tips from tutors. Examples of tasks we performed during internships: creating a website, creating an Instagram account, creating a poster, banner. We also did various types of photo sessions. I had the opportunity to create my own advertising camping. The meeting with the director of the company showed us how my future work may look in practice. I gained knowledge and practical skills that will certainly help me in my future work. I am glad that I could acquire important skills and admire the charms of Spain with my own eyes.
