In November, euroMind welcomed 15 Greek students to Seville. They spent 2 weeks completing individual work placements in physiotherapy, hair and beauty, fashion photography, graphic design and pharmacy.

The trainees completing placements in physiotherapy were tasked with providing massages and physiotherapy treatments, offering rehabilitation treatments to the patients and familiarizing patients with the use of tools that facilitate everyday self-mobility. Those who carried out placements in hairdressing and beauty gained a wide range of knowledge to do with hair treatments, colouring and styling, as well as cosmetics, nail care and facial and body treatments. They gained an understanding of how the work is organised and got to know the general equipment used by Spanish beauticians and hairdressers. 2 of the students undertook fashion photography placements, in which they were responsible for assisting professional photographers, editing pictures with photo editing tools and drawing, creating and editing collages for clients. The graphic design placement also involved exciting tasks, including conceiving, designing, modifying and creating images using programs such as Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Corel. The placement also involved getting to know the latest technologies used in the graphic design sector and producing visual communication projects. Finally, the trainees who worked in pharmacy were thrown into the deep end and tasked with providing customers with basic health and medicinal advice. They also had to create simple medicine combinations, as well as monitor and safeguard medications to ensure that they are used properly.

The group also took part in some language and cultural activities during their time in Andalusia. To equip them with the linguistic skills they need to work in Spain, the students took some intensive Spanish classes with euroMind´s Spanish teacher. The students enjoyed learning in such an intensive environment and their studying certainly paid off – all the participants passed with very good results! The trainees also travelled to nearby Andalusian city Córdoba. The city has a rich cultural and religious history that the group were excited to explore and during their trip they saw landmarks such as the Great Mosque of Córdoba (a world UNESCO site), the Calahorra Tower and the Alcázar of the Christian Monarchs.

After a busy 2 weeks, the trainees were very satisfied and pleased with their unique experiences in Seville. The skills they acquired on their placements will undoubtedly help them in their future careers.
