About This Project

A group of 26 students from Zespół Szkół Ekonomicznych w Radomiu arrived in Setúbal in January for a two-week internships in the professions of freight forwarder, logistician, shop assistant and port and terminal specialist.

The students did their internships in local companies, facing the challenge of overcoming the language barrier and their own shyness. They all performed excellently! As seen by the feedback from our students and their placement tutors.

The students had the opportunity to work in, among others, food banks, shops, logistics centres, warehouses or local travel agencies organising boat trips, where the students from the Ports and Terminals profile performed particularly well. Logistics and freight forwarders got to know the inner workings of transport and logistics companies from both the administrative and practical side, supervising loading/unloading and directing shipments to the right places. Students working in shops were able to see what customer service is like in real life and how many things need to be kept in mind in order for a shop to run smoothly and present the goods offered to customers attractively.

After the internships, there was time for sightseeing. And there was plenty of it! The students visited the Portuguese capital, which captivated them with its beautiful architecture and rich history. They also had the opportunity to see such beautiful places as Sintra and participate in a trip that combines visit in three must-sees of Portugal: Fatima, Obidos and Peniche, where the students were most impressed by the power of nature in the form of the the ocean meeting land on the cliffs. They also loved their host city, Setúbal.

It was two weeks full of excitement, adventure and positive challenges. We are delighted to have been with you and we hope for you to return to Portugal one day!

I spent 2 weeks in Portugal thanks to the Erasmus+. I worked in a company that organizes tourist trips. During my training, I dealt with customer service during a cruise combined with dolphin watching. My other task was preparing the ship for this type of cruise and minor cleaning work in the office. During my stay, I visited the capital of Portugal Lisboa and other picturesque cities such as Sintra, Obidos, Peniche. I consider the whole trip to be a great adventure that brought a lot to my life and provided me with a new professional experience!

Internships in Portugal were amazing! I worked in a clothes shop, and I felt great there, my boss was very nice and understanding, I took care of the cleanliness and decor of the shop, I dressed mannequins, labeled clothes, and packed packages. In general, I liked Portugal very much, there are beautiful landscapes, nice people, and good food, I was most impressed by the Atlantic Ocean, beaches and cliff coast near Peniche, as well as a street in Lisbon with colorful umbrellas. I think that this trip will be nice to remember and I recommend everyone to visit Portugal.

Portugal is a beautiful country. We had the opportunity to learn new things which are linked with our specialization during this trip. Also, we could see many beautiful historic places and spend a great time with our classmates. A trip like this gave me the opportunity to develop my language skills, and taught me self-confidence and self-reliance. I did my internship at a food bank with my friends. Our responsibility was mainly to complete orders. In our free time, in Lisbon, we visited the Belem Towers, a monastery, and the monument of discoverers. We also went to Fatima, Obidos, and Peniche where we saw many interesting monuments and experienced amazing views.
