About This Project

In July 2021, a group of 31 Polish students with three teachers were hosted by euromind in Seville, to carry out a two and a half weeks-long internship placement. Here, they were working as electricians, computer numerical control operators and administrative assistants.

Electricians were preparing and installing components of the light system, assisting in the installation of the electrical systems and maintenance tasks in private houses and companies’ buildings as well as repairing defective installations, machines and electrical devices. The computer numerical control operators were operating and monitoring machines for cutting, drilling and grinding the metal. They have learned how to interpret plans and technical pictures.  The main tasks administrative assistants carried out were: updating payments, timetables, class changes, catch-up classes, taking care of payments, organizing and supervising the data and files from the projects in the database and managing the company’s social media platforms.

During their stay in Seville, the trainees not only developed their practices, but they also took part in different cultural activities and workshops which allowed them to immerse themselves in the environment of Spanish culture and feel like Spanish people in the city of Seville and its surroundings.

They visited Malaga, which is not only famous for its nightlife, charming cafés and vibrant beach, but it is also the perfect place for history, art and architecture enthusiasts, as it is one of the oldest in the world. The trainees began to explore the city from the Gibralfaro and Alcazaba Palace. They also visited an old Roman Theatre and the Cathedral. Malaga is located on the Costa del Sol (Coast of the Sun), which is considered to be one of the most beautiful coasts in Spain, the group also had the opportunity to take some rest after sightseeing in Malagueta Beach by the Mediterranean Sea.

Their second activity in the city was a river cruise, as Seville sits on the east bank of the Guadalquivir, offers wonderful views of some of the city monuments. From the boat, students could admire the main monuments, such as the magnificent Golden Tower, Maestranza Bullring or the Saint Telmo Palace along with beautiful pastel buildings located by the river side. During the cruise, the group could get to know more about the city´s history, differences in classical and modern Seville, with all explanations in Spanish and English.

They also participated in a Spanish course, where they had an opportunity to learn basic words, expressions and phrases in Spanish so that they could communicate with their tutor more effectively. Spanish language is highly rated worldwide, so, knowing the basics, some trainees may want to continue studying it.

The internship has not only been a time to develop knowledge of the sector but also to learn Spanish, get to know a completely different culture, make new friends and develop interpersonal skills. We hope that all of this will be an unforgettable memory for our interns and that in the future they will be able to take advantage of everything they have learned during their stay.

The internship in a host company was a very interesting way to learn a profession in a practical way. I learned a lot of new things, for example how to connect electrical systems and devices. I met many interesting people and I had an opportunity to get to know Spanish culture.

My name is Monika and I study economics. During my internship, I work with a friend from my senior class in the library. We share the tasks given to us by our tutor – Mr. Antonio. I like Seville very much. People are kind and helpful. Our teachers showed us many interesting places in the city. I rate the Erasmus + internships positively.
