About This Project

In September, a group of Polish students with their teachers was hosted by euromind in Seville, to carry out a month long internship placement. They were working in logistics & administration and as warehouse or shop assistants.

Administration is a wide sector that includes elements of bookkeeping with the use of special software. Moreover, administrative assistants help with documentation, organizing and managing files, typing, and editing documents. In this case, our 6 Polish trainees have had the opportunity to develop their skills in nearly all of those areas. They were creating and modifying documents using Microsoft Office, preparing, scanning and registering documents in electronic and paper filing systems, processing invoices, receipts and payments, dealing with financial documents, creating and controlling cash registers, preparing employee payroll and much more.

Warehouse assistants, which were working in clothing stores, where the staff usually have a shared passion for fashion and want to create an unique and different business. The students were in charge of doing inventories, processing orders, organising spare parts and replacements in shelves of the warehouse, opening merchandise boxes and sorting out the products and managing the data compilation system. In general, it was great for students interested in fashion to work in stores that aim to focus on modernity, quality, and refined design of their products.

During their stay in Seville, the trainees not only developed their work competencies, but they also took part in different cultural activities and workshops which allowed them to get acquainted with Spanish culture and feel like Spanish people in the city of Seville and its surroundings.

They visited Olhão, a small Portuguese town, which is located just 15 km from Faro, the capital of the region. While it is often not appreciated by tourists, it is one of the most authentic places in the whole of the Algarve. The students had the chance to discover the beautiful center which is covered in Portuguese azulejos tiles, go on a relaxing walk along the promenade over the Ocean backwaters and visit the local market. The other attractions in Olhão are the Natural Park Ria Formosa near to the town and numerous beaches. It is also really worth taking a cruise to one of many beautiful islands surrounding the town.

They also took part in tapas night in a very social place in the city, where a lot of young people hang out in the evenings. Tapas are small portions of various types of typical Spanish food served with a drink. It was an unforgettable opportunity to taste Andalusian cuisine in a local bar. Also, they could observe the way how meals in Spain are being held, with a lot of chatting, sharing food and being very social in general.

The internship has not only been a time to develop knowledge of the sector but also to learn Spanish, get to know a completely different culture, make new friends and develop interpersonal skills. We hope that all of this will be an unforgettable memory for our interns and that in the future they will be able to take advantage of everything they have learned during their stay and apply those skills to their future jobs.

Aurelia Lubczyńska

I do my apprenticeship in a fashion store. Each of my days at work begins with making sure the shop is generally clean. My other duties include maintaining the order and aesthetics of the store and adhering to the prevailing work etiquette. There is a nice atmosphere at
work as people are really friendly and kind.

Witold Studziński

I do my internship in a grocery store, where Angel is my supervisor. The main tasks it performs are checking the freshness of fruits and vegetables, stacking goods, assisting with warehouse activities, searching for products with a short shelf life. I believe that the experience gained and the development of communication skills will help me find a future job, commensurate with my ambitions and competencies.

Kacper Jurewicz

In my host company, my job is to check whether the incoming goods are correct in quantity. boxes. I am satisfied with the internship, the work taught me a lot about the operation of store warehouses and how goods are received and delivered.
