A group of 9 students from Campos Turnhout from Belgium came to Seville for their 3-week internship in the Tourism sector. The students had the opportunity to develop their professional skills in an international environment. They were mainly familiarised with the work at the reception, but also got to know how a hotel works from the inside. They were able to provide customer service and observe how a hotel is run. After work, they visited beautiful places in Andalusia such as Jerez de la Frontera, Ronda or Cadiz. They had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the Spanish culture by tasting the local cuisine and practising the language.
I really liked my internship place and I loved this experience! The staff was very friendly and helped me with everything I needed. I learnt how to get along with people, the language, how to work here…. So I am going home being more positive and stronger girl! My tasks at the hotel were mainly checking in and checking out, emptying and refilling the dishwasher, preparing breakfast and picking up the clean rooms. In our free time I also had a great time. Here we could explore the city, which is worthwhile. I also find the Spanish classes fascinating because we were able to learn a lot.
I worked in a hotel and I liked it very much. The people are nice and I was able to have good conversations with them. My tasks were very different from each other. I was in charge of paperwork, managing online bookings, checking in rooms or collecting luggage. I also had a lot of free time and I liked to make the most of it. In fact I visited the whole city. I went for long walks, during the day and in the evening. It is quite hot here, but it is still a beautiful city.
