About This Project

At the end of September, 16 students from Kraków, Poland came to Úbeda for a two-week internship as car mechanics and IT specialists.

The mechanics did their internships in various workshops, having the opportunity to work on a wide variety of machinery, from personal cars to trucks. Their tasks included diagnostics, parts maintenance, tyre changes, as well as bodywork and painting.

IT specialists were mainly able to prove themselves as web developers and electronics repair technicians. Their tasks included taking care of their host company’s web shop, designing pages about the region’s cultural events or repairing IT equipment in public buildings.

For the duration of their stay in Spain, the students lived in the euromind residence in Úbeda, where, the feedback is unanimous, they enjoyed the food and unlimited use of the swimming pool the most.

The students spent their free time relaxing, learning Spanish on a course organised by euromind and exploring the region. They were able to see for themselves the diverse nature and beauty of Andalusia with a visit to the ancient city of Córdoba and a kayaking trip to the coastal town of Nerja.

It’s hard to believe that all this happened in just two weeks! We are proud of our students and are delighted that we were able to be part of so many wonderful adventures together!

PARTICIPANTS’ OPINIONS

Gabriela Pniaczek

People in Úbeda were almost always smiling, and everybody was nice. I worked at repair service of trucks, I repaired brakes, suspension, and some other small stuff. All mechanics were nice to me and it was fun to work with them! Also, the residence was really nice, there was a pool outside where we spent most of the free time. Food? – me gusta! Except of the seafood witch I do not like. The best experience was kayaking on the sea, it was really windy and there were big waves. Also, our mentors Sara and Edu were helping us with everything (work, shopping etc). I really enjoyed my time in Spain.

I was surprised that my co-workers there were really chilled! I spent 2 weeks with them like it was one day… too fast. I have learned some things like repairing smartphones or even consoles. Also, I have traveled and seen a lot of breathtaking places like Cordoba, Nerja, and Granada! What is more, I think I have achieved some experience in talking Spanish and also gotten better at English. PS. Our cook was awesome, she cooked really well! Thank you everyone for a great time in Spain! Hasta luego!

Grzegorz Jewuła

The whole trip was cool, I wanted to visit Spain, to take a break from my reality, experience new stuff, and learn new skills, which will help me get the job I want. I learned new things, gained memories, and experienced living in a different country. The cook preparing our meals did a great job because the food was super tasty, and there was always enough for everyone. Also, my mentor at the internship was a great teacher and an even better person.
