At the end of October, a group of 20 students from Zielona Góra, Poland, came to Málaga for work placements in the professions of graphic design, hairdresser, gastronomy, dressmaker and sound systems.
The students did their internships in a variety of companies, from a restaurant of different type, a hairdressing salon and a company specialising in modern graphic design, to a venue that hosts live flamenco shows.
They weren’t idle in their free time either! They visited Gibraltar, Marbella and went hiking in the Caminito del Rey, among other places. What is more, they also attended a Spanish language course, which certainly helped them to get to know the local culture better.
It was certainly intense, but what a richly experiential 2 weeks spent on the sunny Costa del Sol. We are sure that the students share this opinion!

I did my internship in a hairdressing salon in the city center, so I met foreigners from different cultures every day. I really appreciate that I could speak English at work. Thanks to this, I gained freedom of speech and communication skills in conversation with customers. In the beginning, I was assigned a lot of tasks, so I personally dealt with various customers. It was very motivating to act. In our free time we went on a trip to the mountains, swam in the sea, admired the dolphins, and in the evenings we looked up at the beauty of the city and nature. These were unique views, which is why I will certainly keep in my heart all the majesty of Spain, which I could visit.

I wanted to go to Spain to see what it was like to work in my profession in another country and to get to know the local culture and people. I liked the views there the most and the mentality of the people, which is definitely different from that in Poland. We tried Spanish food and integrated with the rest of the people from the group with whom I have not had the opportunity to get to know each other before. During the internship, I was in a company, which deals with graphic arts courses. I was very happy with what it looked like because we were not forced under too much time pressure and we had a field to show off and a chance to show our own style.

My tutor was the best person I could have as a boss. She was so considerate and extremely kind souled. The other week, we had an amazing experience with the sea creatures, dolphins. I cannot even begin to describe, how it was and how I felt about it because words are not enough. But for sure it was one of the memories I will treasure the most. Being in Spain was a great opportunity, not only to learn new skills but also to get to know the culture. About the people, see how they live, how they behave. See the world. New places. I am just very grateful, that I could be a part of something like this.
