About This Project

Slovenian students from Šolski center Ljubljana came to Seville to carry out their 2-week internship as hotel receptionists and woodworkers. They could immerse themselves into Spanish environment and gain new working experience. The students learnt a lot not only in terms of the profession, but also to use their soft skills. Woodworkers had opportunity to use machines and girls working at hotel were doing check ins and check outs. They interacted with the hotel guests.

During their free time, they visited the capital of Andalusia by bike. It was their favourite way to explore the city. The group visited the most important monuments in Seville f.e. Plaza de España, cathedral, Bullring arena, Metropol Parasol and narrow streets of the old town. Moreover, they went to Cadiz, where they could enjoy sunny weather over the ocean. ANEJ PAVLIČ

I worked as a trainee in an industrial company. During my time there, I learned how to use an automatic formatting saw and how to set up a machine for edge bonding. I also worked in the factory where they produced wooden formwork, where my job was to pack the formwork in sets of six. I enjoyed my time at the company because the workers were very friendly and fun. I gained a lot of new experiences during my time there. I liked Sevilla. The city center is very beautiful. Life here is much more relaxed. We had a guided tour of the city where we got to know it well. We also went to Cadiz and swam in the Atlantic for the first time. I was impressed by the people, sights, and food. It was very interesting.

While staying in Seville I worked in a nice historic hotel and mostly did the check-ins and check-outs. I liked working in a hotel because it allowed me to interact with guests and hotel personnel. I learned a lot about hotel management and how receptions work. I think it gave me a new appreciation for hotel staff and all the logistics that have to go on for a hotel to successfully operate. It also presented some new knowledge in the area of security, which is the area that I am studying. Seville is a very beautiful old and historic city. I really liked the small and narrow streets in the old town. Even though it is really easy to get lost in them I think that that is the fun part. You are always discovering new bars and tapas restaurants and small shops. I love how convenient it is to just rent a bike and ride through the city, because of the great bike lanes on the roads or sidewalks.
