In March 2019, Euromind had the pleasure to welcome six trainees from Portugal to do an internship in three different fields: hotel reception, Car mechanics and IT. They all could do an internship located in Seville and related to the sector they were interested in.

Two of them worked as receptionists in a hostel located in the city center. There were mainly assisting in welcoming the guest to the hostel and arranging reservations, in check-ins and check-outs and complete procedures when guests arrive and leave, taking notes of guests concerns and paying attention to special requests in a professional way, helping guests with luggage storage, storing valuable objects, ordering taxis, providing tourist information about the city and the region, contacting hotel booking websites in case of any queries recurring customer`s problems, updating information on hotel booking websites, translating and interpreting if required, performing administrative activities.

Two of our interns decided to work in a group of car dealers and workshops with over 30 concessions in Spain. They could improving their skills carrying out tasks like helping with the installation and replacement of car air conditioning, assisting in aligning and repairing wheels, in inspecting and testing new vehicles to detect potential faults, helping in lifting the vehicle to a specified level, using a hydraulic jack, disassembling units such as engines, gearbox etc. using manual or electric tools, performing basic services and repair activities related to car servicing, i.e. oil and filters change, defective parts replacement, washing of the engine and other car components, evaluating the quality of mechanical, electrical and electronic vehicle equipment operations, selecting and using measurement instruments and diagnostic equipment in the vehicles, using diagnostic computers and oscilloscopes in the workplace, repairing car body, i.e. welding, brazing, riveting, sheet metal and profiles bonding and assembling and disassembling of car body components and chassis.

Others students of the group showed interest in the IT field. So, they could work in a computer store. Their main services they provide are technical repair services and sales of computer and mobile related products to the public. They have carried out more than 13,000 reparations since they opened and they fix all main mobile phone brands using high-quality equipment. They were in charge of installing, assembling and upgrading hardware, checking the electrical connections of the various hardware components, repairing or replacing broken parts (troubleshooting), examining and diagnosing hardware, reading electrical and electronic diagrams, locating the components in the computer, managing the use of measuring and control devices
– Dismantling, reassembly and replacing of simple electrical, electronic and mechanical components and determining the cause of the fault and the required spare parts for intervention.

Besides the work placement, students could also visit Seville thanks to the city tour organized by Euromind team and enjoy the sunny weather of Andalusia visiting Cadiz. We hope they enjoyed their stay in the Andalusian capital !
