About This Project

In June 2019 a group of 16 students from Poland came to Seville to gain experience as 3D printing operators. During their 2-weeks internship they learned how to design and improve 3D products.

Their responsibilities were to interpret plans, operate and monitor machines for cutting, drilling and polishing plastic and metal, place and at the end of the process remove the piece of plastic and metal from the 3D printer and machine, as well as clean, lubricate and carry out maintenance of the machinery. Furthermore, they worked using software to design pieces, creating 3D models and discussing their limitations. Their tasks were also to export, process and repair files using manufacturing programs, for example, 3D Mesh. What is more they were coordinating and preparing the 3D printer for PLA printing and ABS printing and also designing and programming parts in order to produce the necessary support structures. All this was a great experience that will enrichen their professional development.

Moreover, the students were provided with a dynamic Spanish course where the teachers made sure the methods imposed were effective and well prepared for the group. The aim of the course was to break the language barrier and to work on communication skills. All the participants did a great job thanks to their positive attitude and engagement.

In their free time the interns could enjoy the beautiful sites of Spain – they went on a tour around cultural capitol od Andalusia which is Seville, where they admired most important monuments. They also visited ocean located Cadiz and Albufeira – little town of Portugese coast. All their experience from Spain made this time an unforgettable memory!

PARTICIPANTS’ OPINIONS

Cyprian Wilczek

Practices are very good planned. Coordinators help to understand the principles of action of the programs that support 3D printers. The atmosphere on Internship is favorable in learning.

Paweł Ryszard Antonik

Intership in Seville has a very good management. Workers teach us in details how to print a component starting from scanning through design to printing. This internship was a new experience in 3d printing, but also using language with native speakers and possibility to design our own ideas.
