In October, 13 students from Chocianów, Poland, travelled to Málaga for work placements in the professions of mechatronics and tourist services technician. They spent a month in Spain, learning many new things.
The tourism professionals learned new skills in hotels and restaurants, where they had the opportunity to experience first-hand what customer service is like in real life and see if the theoretical knowledge they had acquired translates into practice.
The mechatronics technicians, meanwhile, had the opportunity to test themselves in operating a wide variety of machines, from cars to industrial machinery, which they had the opportunity to repair and service. They also learned how to work with metals and the principles of joining them into subsystems that make the whole machine work.
In their free time, the group attended Spanish language classes, which came in handy in their daily lives during their month-long stay in the country of paella and flamenco. They also went on a trip of Córdoba, the pearl of Andalusia, among other places. There was also plenty of room for active leisure activities in the form of a kayaking trip to the coastal town of Nerja and a walking expedition through the Caminito del Rey mountain canyon.
It was certainly an unforgettable adventure for all participants in this project, from which they took away not only many new professional skills but also unforgettable memories.

The whole trip was a great experience for me. During my internship, I learned to weld during the first week. In the second and third weeks, I learned to grind, saw, and cut metal. Last week, the employer showed me how the lathe works and we worked on it together. We had many great trips during our stay in Málaga. In Spain, I liked the local food and the scenery the most.

I wanted to visit Spain, because I love learning about new cultures, and traveling is my passion. Spain is a very beautiful country, with polite people and amazing landscapes. I worked in a coffee shop, and work there was really good. I had helpful colleagues, and I learned a lot from them. My free time was never boring because there was so much to see. I was always happy about going to the beach, or for a walk. I’m really glad I had my chance to come here.
