At the very beginning of June 2019, the group of 13 students from Zespół Szkół Samochodowych in Bydgoszcz came to Malaga to start their one-month internship in the automotive sector working as car mechanics in car workshops located in the city. They were completely aware that this project is their opportunity to get skills and gain experience that will allow them to improve and succeed in their profession.
During their stay in Spain, among many other responsibilities and tasks they were helping with the installation and replacement of car air conditioning, assisting in aligning and repairing wheels, assisting in inspecting and testing new vehicles to detect potential faults, disassembling units such as engines, gearbox etc. using manual or electric tools, performing basic services and repair activities related to car servicing, i.e. oil and filters change, defective parts replacement, washing of the engine and other car components.
After their internship, they had enough knowledge to be able to use diagnostic computers, remove and install diverse components of the engine, clean a propulsion system with the use of a special solvent, perform activities of car servicing such as lubricating, air pressure checking, etc.
Even in their free time, after working hours and on the weekends they participated in many activities improving their language skills, tasting Spanish culture and work up their interest in mechanics and sports. They visited the car museum to discover the previous incarnations of today’s cars, and watch cars created especially for movies. They took part in Tapas Night, where they tasted many of the local specialties. The whole group even had an opportunity to see a football match of Spanish Premier League with other 25 thousand people on the stadium! Finally, they visited Ronda and Gibraltar together with the euroMind team and all those memories will surely stay with them for a long time.

My stay in Spain was really successful. I have learned a lot of new things. I got to know Spanish culture, I was in various museums, and the match was amazing! In addition, I learned some basic words in Spanish. I will never forget the impressions that I experienced here, the memories will last until the end of my life, I hope I will visit Spain again one day.

A place full of sunshine, wonderful beaches, scenic landscapes, valuable monuments, and interesting culture – this is Malaga, where I had my internship. During the practices, we did a lot of complicated repairs, which taught me a lot. The mechanics with whom I worked were very understanding and when I could not do something, they helped me with it. I would like to come back here for sure!

This month was very interesting, full of emotions and unusual experiences. I gained a lot of new skills in the field of mechanics and met new people. The atmosphere in the workshop was nice and fun. Thanks to organized courses I got to know the basics of the Spanish language. Our coordinators organized excursions for us. During my monthly stay in Malaga, I got to know parts of the culture of the country and its inhabitants as well as local oriental delicacies.
