In April, a group of three Belgian students arrived to the capital of Andalusia to spend four weeks. They did their end-of-year internship at the hotel reception and back office sectors. As hotel recepcionists, the main tasks were assisting in welcoming the guests, managing their check-in and check-out and completing other procedures such as administrative activities and providing touristic information. The trainees who worked as administrative assistants took care of documents and certificates, created databases and other papework. They could immerse in Spanish working environment and break through the language barrier.
In their free time, they explored the attractive streets of Seville. They visited iconic spaces such as cathedral, Giralda tower, Alcazar gardens, the aquarium and Plaza de España. The group had also opportunity experience by themselves how Semana Santa and Feria de Abril look like – two main festivities in Seville. They also travelled to Cadiz to enjoy its wonderful weather and the beauty of its squares and streets.
Hope that you will remember this adventure for a long time!

During my internship I had the opportunity to meet another world of work, compared to Belgium. It is really a rewarding and different experience.
Despite the language barrier I was able to adapt and manage to communicate with potential customers. This internship taught me a lot about the operation of a Hotel. I received a very warm welcome, both from my coworkers and from the director, who was extremely kind and understanding despite the language difficulties. I was able to make arrivals as well as exits from the hotel, talk with many guests to give them all the information they might need, etc.
I was also able to learn that working in a hotel as recepcionist is not necessarily the only thing to do as you need to be totally versatile, which will be extremely useful for me in the future.

During this internship, I acquired skills like teamwork, I used new working platforms and I was able to work with programmes in another language. I also practised my knowledge of word processing, data processing, working platforms. The atmosphere in the company was really nice and everyone was very friendly. I really loved working with them. Seville is a very pleasant city to live in. There are many beautiful places like Plaza de España, the cathedral, the Maria Luisa park and many others. The weather is always nice and sunny. people are friendly and the food is very good.
