About This Project

In November group of 16 students from Zespół Szkół in Poręba, were hosted by euroMind in Malaga to gain a 2-weeks internship in the IT sector.
During the internship, trainees had an opportunity to learn new information which helped them in their future careers.

Here they were working as E-Commerce programmers. Students were installing and configuring the local server LAMP. Installing and learning about the IDE (Sublime Text). Configuring and using MySQL. Downloading, installing, and configuring. WooCommerce plugin for WordPress CMS. Configuring SEO (search engine optimization) and payment gateway to sell the products via the Internet. Configuring delivery costs in terms of geographical area.

During their stay in Malaga, the trainees not only developed their work skills but also took part in different cultural activities such as the Malaga tour, Paella Night. Also, trainees visited Granada.

Granada is the city of three religions and cultures: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. During the trip, the group had a chance to learn and experience a little bit of each of these cultures. Moreover, the students could enjoy the great variety of stunning landscapes and views that Granada has to offer since the city is located at the foot of a mountain range called the Sierra Nevada. Among the most interesting places to see, the group visited: The Albaicín district (with the Mirador de San Nicolas), Plaza Nueva square (St Annes Church), The Acaicerí market, Bib Rambla Square, the Cathedral, the Alhambra and the Generalife views, and also the Sacromonte district where gitanos (gipsies) built up their houses in caves.

Students get sufficient Spanish courses with our Spanish teacher, we emphasize practice, so during lessons students play a lot, because we think the game is the best teacher. Spanish classes can be described in two words: dynamic and practical. That is why, after intensive and hard learning, the students had written an exam. All the participants passed with very good results!

euroMind team did their best to deliver the best professional and cultural experience to the trainees of the project being always ready to help, give advice and solve any problems or doubts.

PARTICIPANTS’ OPINIONS

Kamil Janikowski

First of all, I have to say that my skills of making video games and speaking of Spanish language grow up because I had never had any experience of making games before. Those two weeks were amazing and I am very happy that I can stay there with amazing people. Everything was excellent: our trips, lessons, and food which we ate there. The last thing that I have to write is that we had The best coordinator on The World haha. Maybe You often hear that from other groups but if they say so that must be true. Thank You a lot for everything and good luck in working life. We love You, Maja! Best wishes.

The internship was very interesting. I had a lot of fun with our tutor – Marek, a very cheerful and interesting person. Our coordinator Maja is a very nice, smiling person. You can get along with her and deal with any kind of issue. Dani can teach Spanish very well. All in all, I’m very satisfied with
my achievements, the skills that I gained, and the people that took care of us.
