In October group of 18 polish students from Oleszyce, were hosted by euroMind in Seville for a 3-weeks internship in gastronomy sectors. In Seville, students had an opportunity to see what gastronomy looks like in Spain. Also, trainees had different tasks which helped them to increase their knowledge.
16 students who practiced cooking had an amazing opportunity to see how Spanish food is being made traditionally. Trainees were working on different tasks, such as -washing, peeling, and cutting fruit, vegetables, and meat. They also helped in weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients according to recipes and personal judgment with the use of available kitchen appliances and equipment.
2 students working as Pastry cooks were mixing raw materials and ancillary products in appropriate quantities and preparing different types of dough and creams. Making and decorating different types of tarts and pastries according to the basic techniques of the bakery. Controlling the temperature and humidity of chambers and ovens, as well as the time of fermentation and baking. Displaying different products on the countertop, together with signs identifying the product and its price. Serving customers, advising them, and closing the sale.
While being in Spain, students could also take part in some amusing cultural activities, such as tours around Seville city center, Tapas Night, and Paella Night. They also visited two andalusian cities: Cadiz and Malaga and learned the basics of spanish language during very intensive Spanish lessons with our Spanish teacher.
The trainees had a great experience on a walking tour around Seville, the artistic, cultural, and financial capital of southern Spain. The city is a historical masterpiece full of Islamic monuments, gardens, and flamenco festivals. They quickly realized that Seville is considered to be an architectural gem due to its well-preserved monuments such as the Cathedral and Giralda, the Royal Alcázar, and the General Archive of the Indies – all of which are UNESCO World Heritage sites. The trainees were astonished by all the above-mentioned places as well as the beautiful square Plaza de España that has been used as a filming location in the Star Wars movies.
The trainees were able to participate in the Tapas Night which was a wonderful opportunity to taste the local cuisine, meet the euroMind team and have lots of fun. Tapas are small portions of various types of typical Spanish food served with a drink. The euroMind team took the participants to a local bar and let them experience a little bit of the typically Spanish sociable atmosphere while tasting some Andalusian specialties. The tapas night was located in the most relaxed place in the whole city, where all young people from the city tend to spend their free time.
Euromind team did their best to deliver the best professional and cultural experience to the trainees of the project always ready to help, give advice and solve any problems or doubts. The internship has not only been a time to develop knowledge of the sector but also to learn Spanish, get to know a completely different culture, make new friends and develop interpersonal skills. We hope that all of this will be an unforgettable memory for our interns and that in the future they will be able to take advantage of everything they have learned during their stay.

I will remember very well my internship in Spain, in Seville at the Taberna Almazara restaurant. There I learned many new Spanish dishes, gained more professional experience, and learned a new language. There was a very nice atmosphere in the restaurant and the restaurant staff were very understanding and always ready to help. I will certainly miss these wonderful places like Spain, these adventures, and the smiles we see on the faces of people crossing the street.

The three weeks of the internship in Seville passed very quickly, I spent it actively in a nice atmosphere and also got to know the culture, Spanish language, and food. I really liked the Taberna Alambique Alfalfa restaurant and also gained more experience in the kitchen, for example working with seafood.
