About This Project

We welcomed seventeen students from Mathematical High School of Plovdiv to our beautiful city of Seville for a successful two-week internship. The students came to do an internship in the field of mobile app development. Throughout their internship, they learned about the fundamentals of installing and configurating the environment for the development of the app, testing the application template in two devices, through extensive processes that include running, debugging and transferring apps. They gained expertise in designing the navigation system of mobile apps, including the menu options and context menu components. Moreover, the students reached the point of publishing their own complete mobile apps, in different app formats and apk, while also publishing and managing the app in various platforms. We’re proud to have equipped them with valuable skills and knowledge that will help them in their future career.

PARTICIPANTS’ OPINIONS

VIKTOR ZASHEV

I am currently studying Computer Programming at school, but I have had a passion for coding from a young age. I have regularly participated in national and international informatics competitions, but I had lost the spark for competitive programming. The internship here offered something new and refreshing for me. During the first days of the internship, I was so engrossed in the material we were learning that I found myself annoyed by the breaks. The teacher, Damian, is also extremely friendly and explains the concepts well. By the end of this experience, I am confident that I will feel comfortable in a field of programming that I had zero knowledge of just two weeks before. Erasmus+ also provided an amazing opportunity to visit Seville and have a fantastic vacation.

This was my first time visiting Spain and it was also my first flight to get here. The first thing that caught my attention was the incredible architecture and the unique white-colored houses in Spain. I also noticed the multitude of TV dishes that were visible on the skyline. The experience also provided many opportunities for me to practice my speaking and social skills.

All in all, Erasmus+ projects offer the invaluable experience of learning something new while enjoying a vacation in a place outside of your comfort zone.

DEMIRA NEDEVA

I am a mathematics competitor, and currently, I am finishing 10th grade at the High School of Mathematics in my city. I have been studying programming for three years now (I have two more to go), and it was a pleasure to take part in this edition of the Erasmus+ project. During our two-week stay, we learned and explored how to use Android Studio. At school, I have only studied C++ and C#, so it was my first time encountering Java. Still, it was great fun to try coding in a new language. In the end of the project, we created an app, and I was very happy that we had the freedom to choose its design and purpose! I was stunned by the beauty of Seville, and trust me, my photo gallery is full of nice pics. The culture, architecture, and food were beyond great!

My experience here was unforgettable, and this whole internship will definitely benefit me in the future. I met a lot of people, and some of them have become very good friends even after Erasmus. I practiced my English, learned the basics of Java, and became a much more independent person. Do not wonder anymore and apply for Erasmus+! A great experience is guaranteed.
