In September a group of 16 students from Drobeta-Turnu Severin, Romania together with their teacher were hosted by euroMind in Malaga to gain a 3-weeks internship as a car mechanics.
Students had an amazing opportunity to see how Spanish car service centres work and take part in daily life with workers. Trainees were working on different tusk, helping with the installation and replacement of car air conditioning. Assisting in aligning and repairing wheels. Assisting in inspecting and testing new vehicles to detect potential faults. Helping in lifting the vehicle to a specified level, using a hydraulic jack. Disassembling units such as engines, gearbox etc. using manual or electric tools. Performing basic services and repair activities related to car servicing, i.e., oil and filters change, defective parts replacement, washing of the engine and other car components. Evaluating the quality of mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle equipment operations. Selecting and using measurement instruments and diagnostic equipment in the vehicles. Using diagnostic computers and oscilloscopes in the workplace
During their stay in Malaga, the trainees not only developed their work skills, but they also took part in different cultural activities such as Malaga tour, Malaga Boat Trip Catamaran and workshops which allowed them to get acquainted with Spanish culture and feel like Spanish people in the city of Malaga.
Students also had the opportunity to go Nerja, located on the eastern end of the Costa del Sol, has all the elements needed to charm any visitor. Its annual average temperature of around twenty degrees Celsius, its beautiful mountain landscape of La Axarquía region, as well as its rugged coastline of beaches and cliffs, are just some of its attractions where they were swimming and had fun.
The group was given very intensive Spanish lessons with our Spanish Teacher. euroMind’s teaching methods were very effective as they made learning fun through playing games and creating an enjoyable atmosphere in the class. The Spanish classes can be described by 2 words: dynamic and practical! We used an interactive method of teaching based on learning by practising. This means that grammar was covered as much as possible by using practical situations. Therefore, speaking and actively using the language is crucial and central in all our activities delivered. After intensive and hard learning, the students had a written an exam. All the participants passed with very good results!

Coming to Spain was the most important event in my school years. I worked at a service in Malaga, well equipped with many new tools and machinery. I am very grateful for the mechanics I worked with there because they explained to me how to do certain repairs, which I did not know. I learned a lot of new things about car repairs. I must say we had a great free time! It was the first time I went kayaking on the sea. The boat trip on the Mediterranean Sea was excellent. I feel happy because here I worked in the car service, but also had fun activities with my colleagues. Thank you for this opportunity!

These three weeks of practice were very useful for me because I learned many new things. Thanks to this project I had the opportunity to fly for the first time and see this very beautiful country. In the first week of practice, we had the opportunity to work very hard because the tutor trusted us and allowed us to work alone on a car, to make the necessary repairs. It was like a trial period in which he saw what we know and in the following weeks we received heavier tasks that We performed under his guidance. He really liked to teach us and had a lot of patience to explain. After we finished our work, tutor Sergio always invited us to a cup of tea, while we talked. Thanks to this project I had the opportunity to visit a very beautiful city like Malaga, to go kayaking and boating on the Mediterranean Sea, to sunbathe on the Costa del Sol. I can only say that I am grateful that I was able to participate in this mobility.

I worked in a good and well-organized workshop, in Malaga. Each day, my tutor, Daniel Silva Gomez, gave me a note of what I had to do, and I did the tasks myself. Also, he explained to me when I didn’t know and praised me each time when I worked correctly. I learned many new things, such as car painting, vulcanization and tin smithing, and of course, car repair works. I liked that I went to the sea for the first time, by boat and kayak. I liked the panorama of Malaga. The place where we stayed has a beautiful view, with pool and palm trees. I really liked being in Torremolinos. I am glad I had a wonderful experience. ¡Gracias por todo, euroMind!
