In January 2020, euroMind welcomed a group of 6 Polish teachers to Seville, where they shadowed teachers in a vocational school.

The teachers used their job shadowing experience as an opportunity to identify some of the main similarities and difference between their own institutions, and the vocational school that they visited. There were a number of benefits that they gained from the visit, on both personal and professional levels. These included enhancing their own professional and personal competence within the vocational teaching sector (particularly in electronics), developing their pre-existing professional skills, and gaining experience in using English in this setting (English was the main language of the project). Furthermore, the teachers highlighted a number of activities and ideas that they wish to transfer and implement into their own local context, such as ways of increasing student motivation to participate in developing their vocational skills. Finally, the teachers gained a deep appreciation for the traditions, culture, and history of the Andalusian region, as well as an improved knowledge about wider European projects.

The teachers were extremely grateful for the opportunity to get to know the education system in Spain, as well as becoming familiar, in particular, with the organisation of a vocational training school. They also appreciated being able to exchange professional experience with Spanish teachers, and share methods of teaching from their own countries. The teachers intend on applying all the knowledge that they gained from their unique experience in Seville (both educational and cultural), to their teaching and institutions back in Poland.
