About This Project

In March, Euromind had the pleasure to welcome 16 polish trainees to train themselves as aircraft mechanics for two weeks in Seville. They could gain some experience in this field and acquire new skills. They mainly learnt elements of landing gear, its function and configuration, learnt different parts and engine operations, and differences between turbine and piston engines, different types of propellers and its functions, performed maintenance tasks in the workshop, depending on the state of the engines in the workshops (on different engines propellers, turbines and aircrafts), performed maintenance tasks on the hydraulics systems for example changed engine oil, maintained the contact magneto, cleaned the spark plug etc, took part in the study visits in a flight company and in a Military Base, took part in a guided tour of an assembly line where different processes of assembly and tools used were explained, inspected the pressure sensor and stages of power turbine, read technical documentation (for example Operations Manual on Lycoming Motors maintenance), carried out preflight and post flight checks on the aircraft…

Besides the group training, students could discover a bit more the Andalusian culture enjoying a city tour in Seville, going up Las Setas which is a unique wooden structure in the city center, travelling to Malaga and going out for a flamenco show.

We trust that what they learned during their stay and the experience they gained will be useful for their future!

PARTICIPANTS’ OPINIONS

Filip Piekarz

My work practice in Spain was a very interesting experience. I had an opportunity to find out something more about Spanish culture and Spaniards were friendly. I acquired some experience working there. I think it will help me in the future. Sevilla it’ss a beautiful city, I really liked it. The rest of the trips were also interesting.

Dmytro Varnakov

During these 2 great weeks spent in Seville I have visited lots of fascinating places and have got new skills and experience. Each day of practice  wasn’t easy at all, but at the same time it was extremely informative and useful. In the interim we were able to see plenty of really nice places, such as Málaga, Cordoba and even more. Another feature of the trip is a visit to a firm which works in the field of aviation. So, in a word, Ill never regret that I agreed to take part in the project.
