About This Project

At the end of January, euroMind Seville hosted a group of 15 students from Poland. The students were carrying out a number of work experience placements during their time in Seville, all of which were in administrative or administrative assistant positions.

These required the students to be responsible for various tasks, differing from placement to placement, but with a few common responsibilities. The first of which was offering customer service in a polite, friendly, and above all, professional manner. The students were also responsible for carrying out general office tasks and other forms of assistance in their place of work. Additionally, they became familiar with preparing and scanning documents, and organising the filing systems within which they were stored. Finally, the group also learnt how to process and organise invoices, as well as maintain and update the database systems unique to each company.

The group were kept very busy with their work experience placements; however, this did not stop them from taking part in numerous cultural activities too! The first of these was a paella night where, under the supervision of a professional chef, the group were able to create their own versions of this Spanish specialty. Similarly, they also spent a night sampling tapas in the typically Spanish sociable atmosphere of a tapas bar. Additionally, a member of the euroMind team took the group on a tour of Seville to help better orient themselves in the city for their time here. Furthermore, the group spent their weekends travelling around the South of Spain. In doing so, they visited Gibraltar, Cordoba, and Cadiz. On these trips, they saw the famous monkeys at the top of the Rock in Gibraltar, the UNESCO World Heritage Site Mezquita in Cordoba, and the Plaza de España in Cadiz, where the first Spanish Constitution was signed.

The students really enjoyed their time in Seville, and aside from the many professional skills that they have developed and look forward to using in the future, have also gained a much deeper international understanding of Spanish culture and language.

PARTICIPANTS’ OPINIONS

Euromind gave me the chance to make my dreams come true! My first thought when I saw Spain was “Wow it is even more beautiful than I thought!” My practical lessons are very interesting and I had such an enjoyable time here despite the fact that I needed to work! The Spanish course was really great, I learnt a lot of basic words which makes this language even more amazing when I know about what Spanish people are talking about! Our lovely cook also made us such a delicious dinner each day! I met great people here, who made me feel so at home. Everyone here was very polite and cheerful; I love this country!

I can say project erasmus+ is one of the best things that happened in my life. The residence is cozy, clean and the food is very tasty. During the internship, I gained a lot of new experience and skills that I will be able to use in the future. The trips to Cadiz and Cordoba were very good and well-organized, we saw the most important places in these cities and learnt a lot of interesting information about them.
