About This Project

A group of 15 students from from Zespół Szkół Odzieżowych nr 1 Kraków from Poland came to Seville on February to carry out their 2-week internship as Flamenco Dress Designers.

The trainees worked a lot to produce their self-made flamenco dresses. During the practice, they also broadened their knowledge about evolution of flamenco costume. The group was divided into 4 teams. They could draw illustrations, design and cut elements/patterns needed to sew their dresses. They really did a great job.

Their stay in Seville was not only about work. In their free time, the students, together with the teachers, had the opportunity to visit the Andalusian coast, travelling to Cadiz and Malaga. Some of them were brave enough to swim in the sea. In Seville, the group visited some must-have points: Plaza de España, Real Alcazar, Torre del Oro, Metropol Parasol, museums. They couldn’t miss Spanish cuisine and tapas in local bares/restaurants. Hope they will remember this adventure for a long time!

PARTICIPANTS’ OPINIONS

Practices in Seville are very cool. The teachers are very kind and help us a lot. I learned new techniques of sewing and pinning pins to the fabric. Overall, I am happy and I would love to come back to this place again. Seville is a very beautiful city and very nice to visit. I spent my free time walking and tasting Spanish cuisine. Day trips were also very cool. I liked Cadiz the most because it had a beautiful beach. Malaga is also a beautiful city and if you go out to the castle you can see wonderful views. But still, if I could, I would live in Cadiz for a longer time.

There is a very nice atmosphere in the company I worked. Practices are held in well-equipped classrooms. The tutors are very helpful you can learn a lot. We learnt new sewing techniques. The accommodation is located in a very good place which is close to various museums. Almost every day we visited something. There were many restaurants with very good food. The food in the residence was also very nice.
