About This Project

For two weeks in December 2017, we had the pleasure to have the company of 18 Polish Lab Technicians students. The youngsters spent their time at a a company based on the technology in the agro-food and cosmetic sector in Seville. The trainees did all kind of activities, such as:

  • Removing  residues and sterilizing laboratory equipment and machines
  • Recording and reviewing the results of the experiments
  • Taking and analysing samples
  • Preparing and carrying out equipment maintenance
  • Performing physical chemical testing

Apart from that, they also participated in all kinds of activities outside the lab: they went on creativity workshop, had Spanish classes, did a tour of Seville, went on a tapas night and did trip the charming city of Cádiz. We had a great time with them and hope they learnt plenty of interesting things.

PARTICIPANTS’ OPINIONS

Artur Czarnecki

I really liked the laboratory classes. The lectures of Mrs. Pilar and Mr. Antonio are understandable and cool. The performance of agar was really really interesting for me because we did it from scratch. The microbiological laboratory is for me a paradise on earth.

Wioletta Syposz

In my opinion the practises were really interesting and well organized. I learned to work with professional equipment in a laboratory, for example: spectrophotometer, conductivity and autoclave. I was surprised about the picture method to do the excercises, but I really like it. I prepared a lot of solutions, so I learned about my profession through practice, not just theory. And finally, our tutors were very nice, patient and helpful with us. They created a kind and friendly atmosphere.

The coordinators were able to easily read information about our work. They were very kind and friendly and they always helped us. I’m happy I could try my strength in microbiology. I learned the basics of preparing bacterial base. What surprised me were burettes built with a funnel. Despite the small surfaces and the low temperature, the lab was well equipped and a pleasant place to work. The practices were interesting.
