About This Project

In October 2018, we had a pleasure to host a group of students interested in the field of car mechanics. We offered them different workplaces to choose. In these companies, students could do many tasks, such as:

– Helping with the installation and replacement of car air conditioning
– Assisting in aligning and repairing wheels
– Assisting in inspecting and testing new vehicles to detect potential faults
– Helping in lifting the vehicle to a specified level, using a hydraulic jack
– Disassembling units such as engines, gearbox etc. using manual or electric tools
– Performing basic services and repair activities related to car servicing, i.e. oil and filters change, defective parts replacement, washing of the engine and other car components
– Evaluating the quality of mechanical, electrical and electronic vehicle equipment operations
– Selecting and using measurement instruments and diagnostic equipment in the vehicles
– Using diagnostic computers and oscilloscopes in the workplace
– Repairing car body, i.e. welding, brazing, riveting, sheet metal and profiles bonding, assembling and disassembling of car body components and chassis

Students had stayed here for 2 weeks and did many other interesting things beside working. For example, they had a dynamic Spanish course and, add to that, they also had different cultural activities including tapas tasting, where they could experience the local Spanish cuisine, Málaga city tour and also excursions to other cities in Spain, such as Gibraltar or Seville, where they had been accompanied by our tour guides. Thus, students had a great time in Sevile and we enjoyed having them here with EuroMind!

PARTICIPANTS’ OPINIONS

Erik Balázs

I worked for 3 weeks in a car mechanic garage. The place was very good, it was next to the sea, so the view was gorgeous, the boss and the guys, Louis and Mickey were very kind  and they were great and professional mechanics. From the beginnig, they were very helpful and nice to me, we were speaking a lot about bikes and cars. I got a lot of little jobs such as filter changing, oil changing and some engine disassembly work.  The garage was well-equipped, it had two car lifters, a bunch of tool, pneumatic tools, climate gas remover and a tire changer machine. They showed me how these machines work and I had the possibility to try them out. I learned so much there, I tried myself and I am very satisfied.

At school I learned to become a car mechanic. I had the chance to travel to Malaga, spend 3 weeks there and practise my profession. At my workplace I could expanded some of my business skills with great people. The workshop was well-equipped and I could work with competent professionals. My teacher was very flexible and helpful. At the beginning I didnt have much to do, but as time went on I got more work. The boss was all right, correct, helpful. Everyone in the workshop had a good sense of humour.
