About This Project

These 18 Polish students came to Sevilla right on time to enjoy the warm Sevillian summer sun and to take part in an interesting traineeship on solar energy at a renowned local host company. During their stay the trainees were able to put their technical skills and knowledge into practice whilst also improving their linguistic skills in the process.

Their main tasks included the following:

  • Recognizing different implementations of the solar energy
  • Recognizing the types photovoltaics cells: polycrystalline, monocrystalline and amorphous
  • Obtaining the characteristic parameters of the panel. Including measuring voltage and current, using a multi meter, according to the inclination grade
  • Calculating and scaling the solar installation in a computer
  • Assembling electrical panel and AC power circuits of the house, solar circuit of the house
  • Visiting solar facility of 64 kWp, connected to the network
  • Assembling solar lamps with a twilight switch so it works for a few hours since the sunset
  • Visiting thermos-solar facility: Solucar

This motivated group managed to successfully complete their traineeship while equally impressing their tutors. And after hours there was plenty of time left to enjoy the gorgeous Sevillian sights and to take part in several linguistic and cultural activities.

PARTICIPANTS’ OPINIONS

1

Daniel Strządała:

‘During our practical training in SAFA I’ve learnt how to design in AutoCAD program, how photovoltaic cells work and I have also acquired some Spanish vocabulary. Trainee-ship was very informative and it enhanced my experience. During the Spanish course I’ve learnt lots of new vocabulary which enabled me to communicate with local people. I’ve enjoyed working with our Spanish teacher, Marie Jose. She was very nice and helpful. While staying at our euroMind residence I had a chance to try Spanish food and I liked it a lot. The residence was very clean and comfortable.’

Michał Sala:

‘Practical training at the SAFA school was one of the things that I liked most about my stay in Spain. Javier, our teacher, is a very nice person who is always willing to explain how equipment should be used. During the practice I have learnt how to work better in group, for example during the mounting of parts, and also I have learnt a lot about programming with the use of AutoCAD which will be useful for me in the future. I will also remember our Spanish courses with our teacher Mari. The classes were always flying by so fast, because she was always carrying out our classes with nice games or activities such as singing. Our residence was simple, but included everything that we needed. The best feature of the residence was our cook Inma, whose meals were very tasty and we always had enough of food.’
