About This Project

In February, Euromind was pleased to host a group of 18 polish students to work in several companies according to their preferences.

Ten of them decided to work as geodetic surveyors in a company located in Seville. They had the opportunity to develop their skills getting familiar with the working methodology of the geodetic surveyors, planning the stages of a topographic project, creating topographic bases, taking readings of bases, slope changes and interest points of the project, calculating the different types of coordinates, importing data from EXCEL into AutoCAD, getting to know different instruments used to create a Digital Terrain Model, designing local topographic networks and creating reviews and reports.

 

Others preferred to work as electricians or electronic agents in different companies in Seville, they could learn how to assist in the installation of the electrical systems in private houses and companies’ buildings, to perform maintenance tasks on electrical systems in private houses and companies’ buildings, to prepare and install components of the light system by applying appropriate techniques and procedures, to ensure that the work equipment is maintained in an efficient state, to repair defective installations, machines and electrical devices under the supervision of the tutor, to learn testing equipment to diagnose malfunctions, to test, diagnose and repair electronic circuit boards, to check newly acquired equipment for functioning ability, to help to install and replace electronic, to use diagnostic computers and oscilloscopes in the workplace…

 

One of the students was willing to work as a car mechanic. He was mainly helping to install and replace air conditioners, helping to align and repair wheels, helping to inspect and test new vehicles against damage, removing and disassembling units such as engines, transmissions, or differentials, to be repaired, using hand tools and power tools, performing basic services and repair activities related to car servicing, i.e. oil and filters change, defective parts replacement, washing of the engine and other car components…

 

Another one worked as a computer numerical control operator, he was mainly using counters and applying the knowledge of metrology, interpreting plans and technical pictures, operating and monitoring machines for cutting, drilling and grinding the metal, operating CNC machines, pneumatic machines…

 

Finally, two of them decided to work as hot-and-cold assistants in two different companies in Seville. They learned how to check the condition and the status of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, to Perform corrective and preventive services of maintenance for different types of equipment, to repair any defect and failure that appears in air conditioning systems…

 

Besides the work placement, the group was given very intensive Spanish lessons, all of the participants passed with very good results! Students also had the opportunity to get deeper insight into the Spanish culture thanks to a Paella night, two flamenco shows, visiting las Setas in Seville, going on a trip to Malaga and Cadiz. We hope they enjoyed their stay!

The Erasmus+ EuroMind project is very interesting experience. By participating in the project I got to know how to make electrical installations in Spain. During the Spanish language lessons, I learned the basic vocabulary necessary for communication. I heartily recommend.
