About This Project

In June a group of 19 students from Poland visited Seville to do an internship as port and terminal services operators. All of them were curious and motivated to learn a lot from their new opportunity.

Their responsibilities were managing the movements of shipping containers in ports & terminals, assisting in different kinds of services provided in ports (telematics, distribution, transport services), monitoring different forms of ships exploitation and dealing with the main documents related to the maritime transport. They also had to support some port operations, such as loading, unloading or managing storage. Furthermore, they got acquainted with different types of ships and assisted in the organization of the container terminal operating system. The students were also participating in multimodal transportation, logistic process and custom management. This made them gain a lot of practical experience and surely will serve in their future careers.

Besides working and getting professional knowledge, they also enjoyed staying in beautiful Seville. They were provided with an intensive Spanish course where they could practice language skills and break the barriers. Of course they couldn’t leave without trying local cuisine during tapas night, or without taking a tour around this cultural capital of Andalusia. The whole adventure was a great, unforgettable time.

PARTICIPANTS’ OPINIONS

Joanna Weronika Bulicz

In my opinion the internship was very interesting. People conducting the classes were very nice and tried to provide us with the most important information about our profession. We also visited the port of Seville and the university in Cadiz, where we gained practical and theoretical knowledge. I would gladly go again for such practices.
