About This Project

In December of 2015, 14 very motivated and technically-educated students from Střední Průmyslová Škola came to Seville to take part in a traineeship where they would be able to apply the technical skills they acquired in skills and putting them into practice. Apart from that this experience will also help them to improve both their linguistic and social skills. During their two week stay in Seville, they received insight into the fascinating world of CNC.

The tasks of the interns included the following:

  • Familiarizing with safety health requirements in machining workshop.
  • Traditional lathe and milling machine operation.
  • Montage of cut tool and raw material.
  • Control and verification of machining process.
  • Design of 3D parts using a computer and CAD/CAM software.
  • Understand the machining process using a computer and CAD/CAM software.
  • Create a simulation and verification of the machining process using a computer and CAD/CAM software.
  • CNC lathe and milling machine operation.

After hours, there was plenty of time left for the students to enjoy the beautiful sites of Seville by taking part in a Seville tour, while also exploring the other Andalusian wonders that are on offer: they took part in an exciting trip to Gibraltar.

PARTICIPANTS’ OPINIONS

 Jan Škola:

‘I am Jan Škola, I´m 17 years old and I come from Broumov in the Czech Republic. This was an amazing opportunity to learn a lot of new things in a very special place, Sevilla, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. I loved every single moment. The CNC programme course in the Spanish school was great. The teacher and the co-ordinators were very kind and helped us whenever it was needed. Also I improved my English skills which makes me really happy.’

Marek Štosek:

‘Hello my name is Marek Štosek and I am 17 years old and I am from the Czech Republic. I fell in love with Seville. This is an amazing place and everyone here is very pleasant. The teacher is very helpful and they taught us new programs and some important and new things in mechanical engineering. It is something new for us and in my opinion we made it.  But it was very hard to learn new programs in English.  I hope to come back here.’
